1.      Navigant Predicts ESCO Market Will Pass $8 Billion by 2020 - Energy service companies (ESCOs) grew from a bit player a decade or so ago to a major driving influence in the market to retrofit existing buildings with more energy-efficient technologies. A report announced by Navigant Research says the ESCO market in the United States has gone through a difficult period in recent years as customers have grown concerned about the impact of energy performance contracts on their financial positions. Annual revenue for U.S. ESCOs will grow from $4.9 billion in 2013 to almost $8.3 billion in 2020, the study concludes. http://www.navigantresearch.com/research/the-u-s-energy-service-company-market

2.      LED to Grow 45% Through 2019 - Sales of LEDs that outpace incandescent bulbs in North America are expected to soon completely eliminate incandescent bulbs. The LED lighting market at $4.8 billion in 2012 is anticipated to go to $42 billion by 2019. The reason is the declining price points and the increased interest by the channels in pushing LEDs to consumers. The major lighting companies are listed in the report “LED Lighting: Market Shares, Strategies, and Forecasts, Worldwide, 2013 to 2019” http://www.reportsnreports.com/reports/269046-led-lighting-market-shares-strategies-and-forecasts-worldwide-2013-to-2019.html Buy a copy of the report at http://www.reportsnreports.com/purchase.aspx?name=269046 10/9 PRWEB

3.      New Lighting Technology Won't Flicker, Shatter or Burn Out - The lighting, based on field-induced polymer electroluminescent (FIPEL) technology, also gives off soft, white light – not the yellowish glint from fluorescents or bluish tinge from LEDs. The Wake Forest University team uses a nano-engineered polymer matrix to convert the charge into light. This allows the researchers to create an entirely new light bulb – overcoming one of the major barriers in using plastic lights in commercial buildings and homes. The research supporting the technology is described in a study appearing online in advance of publication in the peer-reviewed journal Organic Electronics. Wake Forest is working with a company to manufacture the technology and plans to have it ready for consumers as early as next year. http://phys.org/news/2012-12-goodbye-fluorescent-bulbs-technology-wont.html
