U.S. installed lighting base in the residential building sector. Incandescent lighting predominates. U.S. installed lighting base in the commercial building sector. Linear fluorescent lighting predominates.

U.S. installed lighting base in the industrial building sector. Linear fluorescent lighting predominates. U.S. installed lighting base in the outdoor sector. High-pressure sodium lighting predominates.

Relative share of lamps, energy consumption and light production for the residential, commercial, industrial and outdoor sectors. The residential sector includes the greatest number of lamps, but the commercial sector consumes the largest share of energy and light. Estimated lamp efficacy by sector and as a national average. Average efficacy has been improving across all sectors.
