Incandescent Lamp “Share” At 79.4% - NEMA’s recent quarterly report on the sale of lamps put the incandescent share in Q3/11 at 79.4% and CFLs at 20.6%. Sales of incandescents, some of which won’t be legally sellable after January 1, 2012, were up 21.5% compared with Q3/10. See graphic below:


T12 Lamps Still Have 30% Share - According to NEMA’s Q3/11 report on linear fluorescent lamp shipments, “Market shares for each lamp type have remained stable over the previous year. Shares of T5, T8 and T12 lamps were unchanged at 7.6, 62.4, and 30.0 percent, respectively, during Q3 2011.” T12 shipments were up 0.9% in Q3, the lowest gain of the lamp types. See graphic below:
